Death of the injured person and right for compensation for pain and suffering (Resolution of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic No. 3 ECdo 278/2013 of March 6, 2014)

By the death of the injured person, his/her right for compensation for pain and suffering ceases to exist to the extent to which it has not been compensated during life of the injured person. However, the right for payment of the amount awarded to the injured party as reimbursement of costs of proceedings by which he/she was granted compensation for pain and suffering does not cease to exist.
